Check if your doctor gives you a prescription to walk.

Of course, you probably know that any physical activity, even walking, is a blessing to your overall health. But above all, walking brings many benefits.

1. Neutralize the effects of genes that increase weight- The Harvard researchers found that among the study participants who walked fast for about an hour a day, the effect of these genes was cut in half.
2. It is useful to tame the craving for sweets- Some studies at the University of Exeter have shown that a 15-minute walk can reduce the desire for chocolate and even reduce the amount of chocolate eaten in stressful situations. And recent research confirms that walking can reduce cravings and ingest a variety of sweet snacks.
3. Reduce the risk of developing breast cancer- A study by the American Cancer Society based on the walk found that women who walked seven hours or more per week had a 14% lower risk of breast cancer than women who walked three hours or less per week. And walking has also provided this protection to women with risk factors for breast cancer, such as being overweight or taking additional hormones.
4. Relieves joint pain- Several studies have shown that walking relieves the pain associated with arthritis, and walking five to six miles per week can even prevent the onset of arthritis. Walking protects the joints, especially the knees and hips more sensitive to osteoarthritis, by lubricating and strengthening the muscles that support them.
5. Strengthens immune function- Walking can help protect you during the cold and flu season. A study of more than 1,000 men and women found that those who walked at least 5 minutes a day for at least 20 minutes a day had 43% fewer days of illness than those who exercised once a week or less. And when they got sick, it took less time and their symptoms decreased.
