Mangoes and Blood Sugar
Summer is the time when people are waiting to eat Mangoes, the king of fruits. Mangoes are so delicious that it is difficult to resist the temptation.

People tend to think that mangoes have natural sugar so that they can be eaten in abundance. If you’re one of those who thinks the same way, we’re sorry to have to tell you, but even fruits like mangoes, if eaten in large quantities, can have a big impact on your blood sugar.
The carbohydrates in mangoes contain added sugars which have a significant impact on blood sugar.
Diabetics are recommended to consume foods with a low glycemic index. Foods with a GI lower than 55 are slowly digested, which causes a slight increase in blood sugar. Mangoes have a GI of 51 and therefore do not affect blood sugar very much.

Choose varieties like Badami or Karnataka Alphonso Mangos because they are on the side of Tangier and therefore have a lower GI. Also make sure you have firm ones, because when the mangoes become ripe and smooth, their glycemic index increases.
